Erddig

Erddig | Wrexham

Erddig was the winner of UKTV History 'Britain's Best' Historic House. It is set within the grounds of a spectacular 485-hectare (1,200-acre) country park and has a restored formal 18th-century walled garden with Victorian parterre, Yew Walk and National Collection of Ivies.

The house provides a fascinating insight into the lives of the servants of the house with restored servants rooms and other rooms including the kitchen, laundry, bakehouse, stables, sawmill, smithy and joiner's shop. The house itself presents a stunning example of state rooms with original 18th- and 19th-century furniture and furnishings, including exquisite Chinese wallpaper.

This attraction can be easily visited whilst staying in the Conwy Valley, and is 34 miles (54 km) from Betws-y-Coed as the crow flies (straight line distance). See the routeplanner below for a suggested route and estimated journey time.
